01

Approach & Process

This section walks through how the project was scoped and approached — the constraints, the stakeholders, and the systems it had to fit into.

The work combined planning, hands-on build, and testing across devices and real-world conditions.

Key Steps:

  • Requirements gathering and technical planning
  • Component architecture and tooling choices
  • Iterative build in short, testable cycles
  • Cross-device QA and accessibility checks

02

The Problem

Across the existing setup, a few issues kept recurring:

  1. Performance — slow loads on lower-end devices and networks
  2. Inconsistency — layouts and components drifting across pages
  3. Manual steps — workflows that should have been automated

These weren't just rough edges — they cost real time and created friction at exactly the moments that mattered most.

03

The Solution

A. Performance pass

Profiled and fixed the slowest pages first — image loading, bundle size, and unnecessary re-renders.

Impact:

  • Cut median load time by roughly a third
  • Trimmed a meaningful chunk of unused bundle weight

B. Consistent component system

Replaced one-off components with a shared, documented set used across every page.

Impact:

  • Fewer visual bugs shipped per release
  • New pages built faster by reusing existing patterns

C. Accessible by default

Checked color contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader labels as part of the build, not an afterthought.

Impact:

  • Passed automated accessibility checks on core pages
  • Verified with keyboard-only and screen-reader testing

04

Beyond the Build

Shipping the build was half the job — the rest was making sure it could be picked up, extended, and maintained by someone else.

Results:

  • Wrote setup and contribution docs from a clean checkout
  • Left the codebase in a state a stranger could pick up

05

Reflection

A few things carried through the whole project, worth calling out on their own:

  • Systems over one-off fixes
  • Real constraints, not assumptions, drove the decisions
  • Shipped something maintainable, not just something that worked once

Customer
feedback.

Wow! I didn't expect it to be this easy. No paperwork, no waiting, just a few taps and I had my account ready. Amazing experience!

No clutter. No confusion. Just a fast, focused experience that got the job done.

This was my first time doing this by myself, and I felt completely in control. It made it feel easy and stress-free.

The design is clean and intuitive, everything was where I expected it to be. I got it done in minutes without needing any help.

Honestly, I thought it'd be complicated, but it was super smooth! The steps were clear, and it walked me through it like a pro.

You can tell this was designed with the user in mind. Everything just makes sense, from the layout to the gentle prompts at each step.

I loved how it used smart UI elements to guide me. The transitions were seamless, and every screen felt thoughtfully crafted.
